28.1 知其雄，守其雌，为天下谿。
Know the male while staying in female
and be a stream for the world;
28.2为天下谿，常德不离，复归于婴儿。
By being a stream for the world,
the eternal integrity does not leave,
and you will return to the nature of a child
28.3知其白，守其黑，为天下式。
Know whiteness while maintaining blackness
and be a model for all under heaven.
28.4为天下式，常德不忒（tè），复归於无极。
By being a model for all under heaven,
the eternal integrity will not err,
and you will return to Infinity again.
28.5知其荣，守其辱，为天下谷。
Know glory while accepting humiliation
and be a (broad) valley for the world
28.6为天下谷，常德乃足，复归于朴。
Be a (broad) valley for the world,
the eternal integrity will keep in full,
and you will return to simplicity
28.7朴散则为器，圣人用之，则为官长。
With simplicity spreading, it becomes an instrument,
used by a saint to govern
28.8故大智不割。
Therefore the ultimate wisdom is undivided
