“Hallelujah” is written by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, originally released in 1984, It’s said Leonard Cohen wrote about 80 verses of it, and performed, recorded, cover versioned by many singers such as John Cale, Jeff Buckley and gradually became successful. There are over 300 versions, the meaning of it can be interpreted variously according to the verses used. It can be sorrowful, bittersweet or uplifting etc. I quite like this version sung by the new British star Alexandra Burke – it’s very uplifting! Here are the lyrics
